Golden Slippers Dance Academy was founded in 1979 in the Lynnhaven part of Virginia Beach VA. There are now five beautiful locations. Our company is operating out of Lynnhaven at 2924 North Lynnhaven Road, in General Booth area at Red Mill Landing, in the Haygood at Haygood Road and Independance Blvd.. Our company is also situated in Kempsville at Woods Shopping Center at Centerville and Kempsville Road. Our fifth location is within POricess Ann located at Salem Road and Lynnhaven Parkway.
The Studio boasts twelve fabulous instructors plus a warm and friendly atmosphere. We offer ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, pointe and contemporary classes. Creative ballet/tap ,offered from 3-5 yr olds, was designed to teach basic technical skills inside of a light, fun manner. The children then graduate to barre (ballet/tap combination classes) then into hour specialty classes based upon their interest. The instruction is not merely designed to teach, but to nurture each child to grow as individual dancers and still have them enjoy their overall dance experience. We're also proud to have been voted "Best of the Beach" Dance Studio GOLD Award the past fifteen years successively! We also have the distinction to be voted the "Best Small Business in Virginia Beach" by the Chamber of Commerce.
Our Recitals are regularly compared to Broadway Shows. Our annual shows are held at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, VA that is one of the many finest venues in Virginia.
